MIXINTOOLS

Cooperative Learning Tools used by teachers for grouping and regrouping students into teams of 3-5.

Students are never in the same group twice!

The LessThan96 project is being replaced with an alternative name.
The price ceiling idea with LessThan96 was too much work.

Applications
Here are a few ideas.

Interactive Assessments: MIXINTOOLSTM can be used to give each student a test or assignment split into multiple sections involving a different group per section. Each student can then be assessed on the cumulative performance over all the groups they worked in. Group assessments are often considered biased as an individual students performance is significantly affected by who they work with. By spreading the talent of the class through multiple groups, this bias is reduced.

The software provided with the  MIXINTOOLSTM makes this technique simple by enabling teachers to assess the groups whilst eliminating the need to track individual scores for each student.

"Get To Know You Games": MIXINTOOLSTM can be used to mix students when playing short games in order to get to know a large percentage of the rest of the class.

The Jigsaw Method: MIXINTOOLSTM can be very effective for creating expert groups when using this popular cooperative learning technique. See
JIGSAW.ORG

Keeping the students alert: Each student has a card. There is only one of each coloured card for each picture. Keep the students alert by randomly calling a different colour and picture (e.g. Red Spider, Blue Flute, Yellow Lobster, etc...) and asking the student with the card a question.

Don't limit yourself to these ideas. If you have any other suggestions for application of MIXINTOOLSTM to list here, please let us know!
